I had a real blast writing fics this year. I wrote two Harry/Scorpius fics (my new favourite pairing!) and one Harry/Draco and I have about seven more fics standing in line, waiting to be written. And I plan on writing them at some point.

But.

I am also writing original fiction and until now it different greatly from my fanfics in that there was nothing slashy about it. I never dreamt that I would be able to come up with a fully-fledged plot that would involve two male protagonists. Funnily enough, all it took was to put my mind to it and now I have main characters, supporting characters, the plot and even something like intrigue.

But.

As it is my first time writing male/male romance, I really could use some outside help and advice. I know it’s too much to ask, but if anyone is interested in reading through my work (which is very small as of yet), giving me critique, etc., please look below the cut for the details.

As a writer I like to indulge in a bit of description. I like to transfer the image that I’ve got in my mind on paper so that I could share it with my readers and I put a great deal of thought and effort into doing it. But as a reader I always find myself skipping the passages dealing with description of any kind and I wonder how much readers really care for description? How important is it to them? I’m not talking about that special kind of description that is used to foreshadow the coming up events, but description of natural sights, clothes, houses, furniture, etc. Does description help readers to visualize the characters and their surroundings or does it make it more difficult to concentrate on the events that they interrupt?
